The Perinatology Lab, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, University of Regensburg, is seeking an ambitious and highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our expanding program in Reproductive Immunology. Our laboratory investigates cellular mechanisms that govern immune responses in reproduction, with a focus on maternal–fetal tolerance, uterus-specific immunity, and immune dysregulation in reproductive disorders.
This position provides an exceptional opportunity to work at the interface of immunology, reproductive biology, and translational research, with access to clinically relevant samples, state-of-the-art technologies, and multidisciplinary approaches.
About the Role
You will lead projects examining immune cell dynamics in reproductive tissues, investigate immune–endocrine crosstalk, and contribute to ongoing studies of pregnancy complications and infertility. The postdoc will work closely with students and collaborators in immunology, obstetrics, reproductive medicine, and computational biology, and will have the opportunity to develop their own research directions within the scope of the lab through a research grant application.
Depending on interests, the project may incorporate methods available at our lab, the University of Regensburg, and associated research institutions:
- Advanced flow cytometry and imaging
- Animal models of reproductive immunology
- Human tissue and clinical cohort studies
- Mechanistic in vitro systems (culture models)
- Bulk/ single-cell transcriptomics
- others

- Reproductive or developmental biology
- Molecular and cellular immunology
- T-cell or innate immune biology
- Animal models and in vivo immunology
- Human ex vivo tissue processing
- High-dimensional data analysis (multiparameter flow cytometry, scRNA-seq)
Essential criteria include:
- A strong publication record commensurate with career stage
- Excellent experimental, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
What We Offer
- A stimulating and supportive scientific environment
- Access to cutting-edge core facilities and clinical partnerships
